倒胃口
指某种东西吃得太多而把胃口弄坏，也常用来比喻对一件事的厌烦情绪。除了文中的turn one’s stomach以外，常用的译法还有spoil one’s appetite; be fed up with。如：这东西吃多了容易倒胃口。Too much of this food will spoil your appetite.这样的电视剧真叫人倒胃口。I’m fed up with such TV dramas.
想起来
occur是不及物动词，作“被想起，被想到”解时，是翻译考试中很常见的.一个知识点，其中又以it occurred to me这样的形式居多。如：It occurred to me the other day that I might not have come to love life as I do if I hadn’t been blind.有一天我突然想到，倘若我不是盲人，我或许不会变得像现在这样热爱生活。His name just did not occur to my memory.我就是想不起他的名字来。
应该
suppose作“期望；认为必须，认为应该；认为……必要”解时，常用被动语态。如：None of us girls is supposed to smoke.我们女孩子都不该吸烟。When is the ship supposed to leave?船应该在什么时候开？
奶奶经
这里实际上指“无聊的（愚蠢的）旧规矩”，因此文中译为silly old rules。
