一.选题
1.演讲者本人
演讲者必须了解和喜欢所选题目，在演讲时才真正地投入，才能有信心、激情和真情，才能现场超常发挥。
2.考虑听众，包括评委
他们是演讲者的裁判人，因此选题要考虑到听众的知识结构、文化背景、英语水平、职业特征等。演讲的内容越贴近他们的生活，就越能引起他们的共鸣。
3.考虑时间及场合
要清楚比赛的时间地点，关注近段时间发生的特别事件或比赛地点的特别之处，演讲人们关心的焦点内容调动听众和评委的激情。
二.遣词造句
1.听众只有一次听你演讲的机会，因此演讲时要尽量选用简单易懂的日常口语词汇，尽量少用或不用大词、难词、生僻词、句子也不宜过长。
2.演讲时尽量不要向听众或评委发问，避免人家不愿回答而感到尴尬，甚至乱了阵脚。
3.可以用设问的手法，自问自答，也有助于加重语气，表达激动的心情，演讲生动活泼引起听众的注意。但设问时语流要慢并且停顿一下，给听众一点回味的时间，然后再继续表明自己的观点。
三.运用比喻、重复等修辞手段，增强演讲的气势和感染力。
1.看演讲现场空间的`大小来把握说话速度和声音大小，如果不是第一个演讲，可以通过别人的演讲效果来调整自己的语速和音量，同时考虑听众的英语水平。
2.根据演讲内容的重要程度来调整自己的语速和音量，重要的地方说话要慢而重，次要的地方可以说快一点、轻一点，让听众感受到你的情感和态度。

1.走路的姿势：上下场时要挺胸抬头，步伐从容，让听众感到一种信心与气势。上场后要先环顾一下会场，镇定一下情绪，然后再开始演讲。
2.身势语：通过手势表情或其他动作增强语言的表达效果和感染力。但动作一定不能过多，尤其不要重复某些毫无意义的手势。也就是说动作手势应当与语言内容协调一致，应当有助于听众理解语言的内容。
3.目光接触：演讲时要注视观众，不时变换方向，让听众觉得你们在直接对话，拉近与听众的距离。
4.衣着打扮：穿着打扮要得体，适合你的年龄与身份，适合演讲的具体场合。你是学生，衣着打扮要显出年轻人的朝气。
