  On the train back home that evening she felt hungry, she went to the buffetcar for a sandwich. She had left the black umbrella above her seat in thecompartment, but when she got back, it had gone! Sally burst into tears. Theother three passengers felt sorry for her and asked what the matter was.   自高校入学考试增加口试后,笔者几乎每年都担任北京地区主考人,感到有必要从考官的角度与考生谈谈口试时应注意的问题,英语教授张卫族谈如何对付高考英语口试。

  首先,考生要充分意识,口试与笔试最大的不同在于前者面对的是有思想感情的人。而人与人之间素质相异。正因如此,有时理应用理智处理问题时往往受到感情的干扰,这正如比赛评判的“印象分”。为此,考生务必理解主考人的心理状态,避免给主考人不利自己的印象。以下情况如果出现,主考人往往一开始就会对你产生“坏感”,本应得到的成绩就会打折扣:

  l)从备考室到应考室门前后,还需要等候工作人员的通知。上一个考生走出后,两位考官要就给分进行短暂讨论,意见一致后填入表内。评分阶段未完前,如果下一个考生进来了,主考人不会就此不满,因为这不是考生的问题,这时主考人往往用英语说Please wait outside for a moment./Wait outside please. Please dont come in until we ask you to.等等。尽管这些话没有考生不会的单词,但由于考生平时接触的会说英语的较多的是自己的`英语老师和同班同学,乍一听别人说英语很不习惯。主考人有时要重复两三遍,甚至加用手势,考生退出。这将留下第一个“不良印象”。主考人们会想“怎么这么简单的英语也没听懂?”

  2)进入口试室前如能先敲门,并说 May I come in?或 May I?,主考人自然会认为你很有礼貌,中学英语《英语教授张卫族谈如何对付高考英语口试》。人还没见,先有个好印象。

  3)在外表上,考生一般都注意衣着得体。但男生篷乱的头发最容易给主考人不好印象。

  4)十有八九考生主动打招呼,说Good morning.或Good afternoon.这很好。但在使用称呼语上要慎重。如最常用的teacher,它在英语习惯里不是个称呼语,有的主考人认为中国式英语,也有的主考人认为国内有的教材这么用了,因而可以接受。在这种有争议的情况下,考生应避免给自己找麻烦,就简单说Good morning/afternoon.为妥。

  5)考生应把准考证交给主考人,以便将有关信息和成绩写在记录单上。考生如果主动,主考人也就不会说Let me have your examination permit/ID.或Give me your examination permit/ID.(ID= identification card,证明自己“身份”的证件,此处也可表示自己获准参加考试的证明;permit=许可证)。当然,主考人知道考生会听不懂,往往边说边比划,可有时考生还不懂,这又会给自己带来不利的印象分。

  6)在备考室里考生拿到的试卷上要求朗读的段落都用*记号标出,表示只需朗读这一段。这种做法“十几年一贯”,没有改变过,但不少考生一听见要朗读就从文章开头念。这说明没有看懂口试要求。类似这种可以防范的错误应该避免。

  7)口试时间的一般规律是先松后紧。第一个小时内考生往往能有十分钟左右,经考场工作人员催促后,主考人会加快口试速度。这时不会要求读完指定段落就开始就文章内容提问。实际上,检查考生发音和语音语调无需朗读一长段文字,读一两句就知分晓了。当考生被打断时,往往是主考人认为朗读满意,没有必要再继续念下去,可以进行下一项了。这时考生不应紧张,以为念得糟透。而主考人往往会给念的不理想的人多些时间,看看有些错误能否自己纠正、不少主考人会认为语音欠佳还能明白,不会分意群就很难听懂。笔者希望平时多加强较长单句、复合句和复杂句朗读,进行针对性的意群停顿的训练。

  8)在回答就文章内容提问时,应尽量在理解内容的基础上用自己的语言回答。中

  1.短文填空:注意连读、爆破、前后鼻音、舌边音、卷舌音、弱读、定冠词的两种读法、语音语调的抑扬顿挫。

  2. 情景反应:听力与口语的结合,难度没有听力考试的大,答案直接可从对话中听到,边看题目边听,回答完整句型。

  3. 口语表达:写作与口语的结合,思路与写作一样,表达出提纲意思并用适当连词连接,尤其是开头和结尾,如in my view, in a word等口语式的连词。但忌用复杂句型。

  考试期间内考生要保持沉着、冷静、自信!

  口语考试是各类外语考试的重头戏,也是体现考生外语水平的重要指标。但中国考生偏重读写,口语能力相对较弱,要想顺利通过口语考试,有一定难度。俗话说“熟能生巧”,口语考试虽是道难关,但只要考生认真练习,掌握一定的技巧,完全能达到对答如流的水平。模仿练习与复述练习是攻克英语口语考试的两大法宝,能帮助考生纠正不良发音,了解英语表达习惯,提高语言流利程度,从而全面提升口语能力。 如何进行模仿练习 模仿的原则:考生必须主动、有意识、有目的地去模仿。模仿时要放开嗓子,口形到位,清清楚楚、一板一眼,并及时纠正说不好的单词、短语等。纯正、优美的语音、语调不是短期模仿就能达到的,需要考生长期坚持锻炼,一般来说,至少需要半年时间。

  模仿的标准:模仿到什么程度才算好呢?简单地说就是要“像”,考生的语音、语调等都很接近模仿对象。如能更进一步,在语音、语调等方面都达到逼真的效果,则更为成功。

  模仿的方法:第一步,语音模仿。刚开始模仿时,速度不要过快,并注意口形正确,以便把音发到位。打好基础后再加快速度,用正常语速反复多练几遍,直到自如表达意思。对于读不准或较陌生的单词,要反复多听几遍,逐一进行单独模仿。第二步,词组模仿。有了第一步的基础,这一步就容易多了。考生的重点要放在熟练程度和流利程度上,特别要多练习连读、同化等语音技巧。第三步,段落及篇章模仿。听英语

  文章录音或英语新闻,并跟着模仿,重点在于提高口腔肌肉的反应速度,使肌肉和大脑更加协调,从而提高语言的流利程度。

  模仿练习时要注意克服害羞心理。害羞心理一方面源于性格,内向的人讲话时易小声小气,这对学习英语语音语调很不利。另一方面是源于自卑心理,总以为自己英语水平太差,不敢开口,尤其是与水平较高者对话时。克服这种心理障碍,是学好口语的前提。

  如何进行复述练习 复述的原则:复述练习一定要循序渐进,从一两句开始,听完后用英语表述说出来。刚开始时,因语言表达能力、技巧等方面原因,往往复述接近于背诵。但基础逐渐好起来后,就会慢慢放开,此时要注意用活语言,如改变句子结构,精减内容,甚至仅复述大意或内容概要。考生在选择复述内容时,尽量选一些内容生动的小短文或小故事,有明确的情节,生词量不要太大。有了基础后,再适当扩大题材范围。 复述的方法:学英语离不开记忆,复述练习就是一种记忆单词、句子的形式。但这种记忆不能靠死记硬背,而需掌握一定的记忆方法。复述有两种常见的练习方法:一种是阅读后复述,另一种是听磁带后复述。后一种方法更为有效,在锻炼听力、口语表达能力的同时,还可帮助考生提高注意力,进行有效记忆,克服听完就忘的毛病。
