  词根:spec, spi(c), scop = to look(看), to observe(观察)

  1. respect

  助记:re(回头,反复)+ spec(看)→回头看,反复看→重视,尊敬

  释义:vt.尊重;尊敬;关心;遵守;n.尊重,恭敬

  举例:

  (1) I respect his judgment and I'll follow any advice he gives m.
