　　Survivor幸存者。"A cancer survivor," 癌症存活者；"a plane crash survivor," 坠机事件的幸存者，"a Holocaust survivor," 纳粹大屠杀的幸存者。"The last survivor of the Titanic died Sunday at the age of 97," 泰坦尼克号的最后一位幸存者星期天去世，享年97岁。泰坦尼克号沉船事件发生时，她只有两个月大。

　　美国海军不久前举办活动，纪念65年前在珍珠港发生的所谓“第二次珍珠港灾难”，那次爆炸事故造成一百多人丧生。虽然这起事件鲜为人知，"but the events of that day remain vivid to its survivors," 但是对事件幸存者来说，当天的情形还历历在目。
