　　I Love Big Cities

　　I grew up in a small town and now study in a big city, so I have experi-enced the good and bad sides of both. I never thought that I would like to livein a big city, but I was wrong. After two years of living in one, I can't imagineever living in a small town again.

　　I love the excitement of big cities. Small towns have a slower pace. Inlarge cities you have to adapt to a variety of situations, like finding a new routeto work or trying a new restaurant. I enjoy that challenge very much. Anotherpart of the excitement of city life is the variety of cultural activities available.

　　There are various kinds of theatres, musicals and dance performances availablein big cities. These things are rare in small ones.

　　Of course, security is a concern, and that's one area where small towns aresuperior to big cities. Still, I would rather be a bit more cautious and live in alarge city than feel secure but bored in a small town.

　　Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a letter tocomfort a friend who felt depressed because she couldn't afford fashionable clothes. You should write at least 120 words but nomore than 180 words.

　　You said in your letter that many of your classmates wore fashionableclothes, but you couldn't afford them so you felt very depressed. There are dif-ferent views on people's clothes. The followings are my ideas:
