　　One day， a hare and a tortoise decided to have a race to see who was faster than the other。 They agreed that the one who first got to the big tree in the distance was the winner。 So they started at the same time。

　　The hare thought， "My legs ave much longer than the tortoise's， I'm sure to be the winner。 Of course the tortoise was much slower than the hare， but he was never discouraged and kept on moving forward as fast as he could。

　　As the hare ran round a corner， he found the tortoise far behind him。 So the hare decided to take a rest under a tree。 When he woke up， the tortoise had already got to the tree and won the race。 The hare was filled with regret。

　　早上，客厅里传来了我读英语的声音，我以前英语学习的不太好，暑假爸爸让我再学一遍。

　　我还没睡醒，就迷迷糊糊开始读了，说是读，其实是跟着磁带学，会的.说一遍，不会的跟着磁带乱说一通，很快就读到了第四单元。

　　妈妈来检查，前面几个内容还简单，到了后面就有点吃不消了，怎么读呀、意思是什么呀一个个问题出现在我的脑子里，妈妈见我这么多都不会，叫爸爸来教我，爸爸教一个，我读一个，后来还是一个记不住，只有硬着头皮学，刚好英语书上有一个内容题目叫“读读写写”，爸爸就让我抄了一遍，这一抄，问题更大，要么拿笔姿势不对，要么眼睛离书本太近，要么单词书写不规范……问题一个接一个。

　　我刚想抱怨英语单词太难，可又一想，这全都怪我平时上英语课不认真，老师讲课时，我在底下传纸条、做小动作、说话，根本没把老师放在眼里，没有意识到英语的重要性。听爸爸说，上中学以后，英语和语文数学一样重要，高考时英语不行也考不上好大学，就算考上了好大学，连英语都不会说，怎么和外国人交流？我可不想成为一个“少壮不努力，老大徒伤悲”的人。

　　想到这里，我决定暑假一定要补好英语：

　　一，每天早上跟磁带读单词，读到会读为止；

　　二，每天早上听写十个单词，写到会写为止；

　　三，熟记课文意思，记会为止。

　　Generation gap between parents and children

　　Nowadays , there are more and more misunderstanding between parents and children which is so- called generation gap . It is estimated that (75 percentages of parents often complain their children‘s unreasonable behavior while children usually think their parents too old fashioned).
