　　Guangzhou is a city in the south of China. It's hot in summer but it's not very cold in winter. Guangzhou has a long history. It's the famous for the Statue(雕塑)of Five Goats(五羊).There is a beautiful river across this city--The Pearly River(珠江). Many people say"Eating in Guangzhou". Because Guangzhou dimsum(点心)is very famous. And we can eat Guangdong dimsum anywhere.I like Guangzhou very much. Do you like Guangzhou?

　　Guangzhou is the capital and the sub-provincial city of Guangdong Province in the southern part of the People's Republic of China. The city is also known by an older English-language name, Canton. It is a port on the Pearl River, navigable to the South China Sea, and is located about 120km north-west of Hong Kong. As of the 2000 census, the city has a population of 6 million, and a metropolitan population of 12.6 million,[citation needed] making it the most populous city in the province and the third most populous metropolitan area in China.

　　With the Guangzhou Metro, opened in 1999, Guangzhou is the fourth city in China to build an underground railway system. Currently there are four lines operational with an ambitious plan to expand rapidly with three lines under construction and four lines that are being planned.

　　Guangzhou's main airport is the New Baiyun International Airport in Huadu District, that opened on 5 August 2004 replacing old Baiyun International Airport close to the city centre.

　　It is the third largest city in China and the capital of Guangdong Province,southern China's largest city and key transportation hub and trading port,located on the Pearl River which is navigable to the South China Sea.As of the 2000 census,the city has a population of 6 million,and an urban area population of roughly 11.85 million,making it the most populous city in the province and the third most populous metropolitan area in China.The Guangzhou government's official estimate of the city's population at the end of 2009 was 10,334,500,an addition of 152,500 people from last year.
