盘点美国起薪最高的50所大学
erdWallet面向所有2014毕业生进行了抽样调查，用这种方式取得的数据应该比薪资调查网站PayScale数据库中那些想跳槽的人自行上报的薪资数据更为可靠。 相对于美国的4500所大学，这份榜单远谈不上全面，但对我们定性地把握行业兴衰还是很帮助的。
最终，NerdScholar通过综合分析列出前50所大学的总排名及商学、工科、艺术、科学、医学等的专科排名。
通过对榜单中的.学校及专业进行分析，发现4所大学的计算机科学专业起薪最高，平均6.8万美元。其中卡内基梅隆大学计算机科学学院达到8.98万美元，位列榜单首位;另外，20所大学的工程及应用科学平均起薪为6.4万美元;前些年热门的8所商学院平均起薪为6万美元。
有意思的是，计算机、工科、商学院三者的录取率与起薪排行呈现微妙的对应关系。根据Zinch Chin给出的录取率，起薪榜中工科学院平均录取率达到23%，其次是计算机科学的17%，商科的录取率则不足10%。商学院难考是因为前些年太风光，而到毕业时相关专业已经不那么吃香了。计算机和工科是金融机危之后，美国重振实业的受益者，前些年比商学院好考，毕业后起薪更高。

看了这个榜样，华人留学生的专业选择方向就比较清楚了，而且形势对华人学生十分有利。因为语言文化方面的原因，出生在美国之外的华人从事商科很吃亏。计算机学科也有些亏，至少没有印度人的先天优势。工科对语言、文化背景的要求低多了，而需求量大、起薪较高，是华人不错的发展方向。
资料显示工程类学院对托福&SAT成绩的要求并不苛刻，招生官注重的是学生的创造和分析能力，学费也较为合理。
计算机科学虽然有很大发展空间，但这一学科长期被印度裔占领。
许多华人抱着“商学对学术能力要求低、好找工作”的心理去学商科，但事实并非如此。真正优秀的商学院入学条件就极为苛刻，好不容易学到毕业还得去考好几个财务专业证书才能去当一个小小分析师。一旦经济危机就要丢饭碗，还得担心各类金融陷阱。
当然，起薪只是参考，还要看本人的兴趣和特长，适合自己的、遵从发展规律的选择才是最好的。
