一、选题的意义及相关研究文献综述（选题背景） Significance of the Proposed Study   Children’s literature have gained great achievements in 19 century, one of the most outstanding representatives is Hans Christian Andersen, he have turn the coarse folklores into literary fairy tales with poetic beauty and inner feelings for the first time. Andersen’s Fairy Tales have being loved by one Andersen's Fairy Taleser another generation all over the world because its humanity which have beyond national, ethnic and cultural boundaries. The whole fairy tales full of poetic and romantic beauty, its language is plain and facetious, its imaginations are fantastic and thaumaturgic. The study of Andersen’s Fairy Tales has become multiple gradually, with development of the pervasive study of Andersen’s Fairy Tales, people seems to neglect the study of the inherent problem: what makes Andersen’s Fairy Tales so famous and everlasting and what is the special charm of it that always have attract children and even adult? This article would analysis the beauty of Andersen’s Fairy Tales base on Romanticism, in order to understand its’ special charm and trueth of eternal existence of Andersen’s Fairy Tales. Literature Review   Speaking of Andersen’s Fairy Tales, there are many studies about it have been done by domestic and foreign scholars. Ye Junjian, a famous translator who have been honored with Danish Flag Medal because his translation of Andersen’s Fairy Tales, he said that Andersen’s Fairy Tales is a modern fairy tale that combines fantasy fairy tales, political satires and poetic language, it full of romanticism and humanity. The poetic beauty and comedic humor maked it famous. Zhou Zuoren, the first peoson that introduce Andersen to China have make “childishness” and “poetry” as his deterministic evaluation of Andersen's Fairy Tales, he thought that poetic romance is the main traits and charm of Andersen's Fairy Tales. Ye also said that he was attracted by it because he felt that Andersen's Fairy Tales may be a poem. Deng Zhenduo said that Andersen's Fairy Tales is not only a interesting story, but also a beautiful poem that wrote in prose。These scholars’ opinion is that poetic beauty is the charm of Andersen's Fairy Tales, other scholars thought that the specificity of Andersen's Fairy Tales is the theatricality of it, there is theatricality in Andersen’s life all the time, and it reflected in his fairy tales, the stories in his fairy tales actually is the reflections of his life, Andersen's Fairy Tales have many similarities with drama, its’ wonderful plots are the charm that make people fall in love with it. All these people think Andersen’s Fairy Tales’ artistic expression are very charming，and of course, there are people who went deep into Andersen's Fairy Tales to find out the spirit of it it, and that is the special charm of Andersen's Fairy Tales, too. Wang Ting said that the fantastic fairy world that Andersen build up is bases on faith of people and the longing of ideal world. Even it is a sad story, even the main character is in a rough condition and having a miserable life, they still keep their dreams, they never give up hopes. The spirit of pursuing ideal world, the spirit of overcoming adversities and to live a wonderful life is the charm of Andersen's Fairy Tales. Andersen's Fairy Tales also make up the imperfect of the real world by building a fairy world, it told people to pity poor and weak people, it shows the great humannity, it gives people courage and power, it inspires people to pursue true beauty of soul.Andersen’s Fairy Tales is not only a story book, but also a guide book for people to live happyly.   All these scholars have appreciated the artistic expression and spirits of Andersen's Fairy Tales, some of them may mentioned the poetic romance of it, but they did not talk about it specifically, the understanding of Andersen's Fairy Tales is not enough. Where is the special charm of Andersen's Fairy Tales? What kind of charm can make it so famous and fantastic? Why this kind of charm can make Andersen's Fairy Tales so charming to people especially to children? What is the difference between Andersen's Fairy Tales and other famous fairu tales? This article would focus on these questions, and analysis them base on Romanticism.

Functions and specificities of Romanticism in fairy tales(advantages for fairy tales to use Romanticism) 3. Differences between Andersen's Fairy Tales and other famous fairy tales( compare with Grimm’s Fairy Tales and Oscar Wilde’s Fairy Tales ) Working Hypothesis 1. Working with the concepts and features of Romanticism to find out contents that fits them, and then analysis their deep meaning 2. Basing on the expressive effectiveness and the infectivity of fairy tales, conclud the advantages of using Romanticism 3. Nanlysis the the differences between Andersen's Fairy Tales and other fairy tales base on their material, meaning and infectivity. 4. Draw a conclusion of the special charm of Andersen's Fairy Tales. Potential Difficulties 1. There is not settled definition of Romanticism, so the understanding of Romanticism would be quite personal. 2. This article would just talk about the advantages of Romanticism in fairy tales, so it might can not show the specificity greatly. 3. It would not cover all the aspects while comparing, because the scope is too big. 4. There is less research data of Andersen's Fairy Tales from foreign countries, and lack of authoritative informations.
三、拟采用的理论框架及/或研究方法、步骤 Theoretical Framework   Romanticism is come from a medieval French “romance”, it means legends or novels, it is the narratives of Middle Ages, it also means interesting affairs in real life and ideal and poetic love stories. Medieval romance mainly uses exaggeration and arrangement to express the emotion and scene, in order tocreate fantastic imaginations and provide a right background for special characters and fantastic stories. And imagination is the essential feature of romanticism literature, it is the most obvious difference from realism. The source of European Romanticism which arose in the end of 18 century and early 19 century is the medieval romance, it can be seen from the slogan ”back to the middle ages”. So imagination is the main feature of European literature of 18th and 19th centuries. Andersen was live under the background of European Romanticism, so Andersen's Fairy Tales obviously has the features of Romanticism.   The pioneers of romantic movement pointed out that the essence of Romanticism is a limitless and free imagination, a free thought that never stop. Hegel said that the key feature of romanticism is a introverted and subjective thing, it is a free spiritual life. Many scholars have emphasized the essence of romanticism----freedom, because all the features of romanticism are come from it. As for contents, opinions of romanticism is that logos is a kind of bondage of art, romanticism put emotion and imagination at the first place, contents of romantic works are all full of emotional expression and exaggerative imagination. As for manifestation, romanticism emphasis subjectivity, it main focus on ideal world and uses contrast, exaggeration, ebullient language and imagination that beyond realistic to create the ideal image. Romanticism also pay lots of attention to folk literature, it uses ornate rhetoric to create strong artistic effects and unusual plots, it would turn the ordinary folk story into a wonderful fairy tale. Romanticism focus on the ideal world because the real world are miserable, romanticists were unsatisfied with the real world, they use their imagination to write down the world they are dreaming, they wrote down their feelings, opinions,etc. Romanticism is not only the imagination about ideal world, but also the reflection of the authors themselves.   Andersen was live at the time of European romantic movement, Andersen's Fairy Tales is fairy tales which means itself is a collection of imaginative stories, it meant to be full of imagination and  exaggeration. Andersen’s Fairy Tales is a work of romanticism.
