This paper is to solve the following questions:
1. Make sure the relationship between Birkin and Ursula is homosexuality.
2. How does the relationship between Birkin and Ursula reflect Lawrence’s view of Male Chauvinism?
|Methodology and Data Collection||The study adopts a qualitative approach. It uses the theoretical framework to analyze the target text. This paper will use several cases about Birkin and Ursula to analyze the relationship between them.|

|Outline/Organization of the Proposed Study||
Chapter 1 is a general introduction of the whole dissertation which includes the significance and the background of the study, the research question, the methodology and the data.
Chapter 2 is a review of the previous research of Lawrence’s view of Male Chauvinism and the previous research on application of Queer Theory to homosexuality.
Chapter 3 introduces the Queer Theory. The author will point out the key concepts of Queer Theory in this chapter.
Chapter 4 will analyze the cases in text with Queer Theory.
Chapter 5 is the conclusion of the paper.
|Tentative Conclusion and Potential Difficulties||
Conclusion: The relationship between Birkin and Ursula is homosexuality. It reflects the Male Chauvinism. Lawrence advocates the harmonious relationship between the same sex. Actually, what he wanted was to dispel the contrary situation between homosexuality and mainstream society. How to make everyone is equal become true and how to build up the life style of reciprocal respect.
Potential difficulties: because of the author’s limitation researching ability, the limitation of thinking mode and scope, and the understanding power, there needs some improvements for sure.
