Topic 1Reading Selectively or Extensively
Greetings,
As the saying goes, books are the ladder of human progress. Without books, human beings are not more but lecivilized. And there is no doubt that reading makes up an important part of our daily life. However, when it comes to how to read, there is a question: should we read selectively or should extensively?
The answer to the question seems to vary from person to person. In my point of view, both methods should be taken during our proceof reading.
On one hand, since we are living in an age of booming information, it is important for us to read as much as we can in order to expand our horizons and grasp the general knowledge from different fields. If we only read the books we prefer, our knowledge would be rather limited. That’s why we should read extensively.
However, on the other hand, we may come acrowith bad books as many as good ones in the proceof reading. It might also be noted that we should read in a selective way to avoid those book which are not worth reading. In addition, reading in selection means we can put more energy in studying in one particular field and gain more specialized knowledge.
To sum up, to read books properly and efficiently, the combination of the two methods must be reasonable for learners.
Topic 2On overseas Study

In 1872, the Qing dynasty, after hundred of years of being separated from the outside world, sent out 30 young boys aging from 12 to 15 to America to learn the advanced technology of the western world. The pioneers of overseas students were hardworking learners. After 10 years of studying abroad, many of them came back and turned into pillars of the state, making a great contribution to the development of the nation.
In current society, studying abroad is no longer a new phrase among students. Actually; it has become a growing trend for modern students to go abroad for further studies. However, compared with the hard-working pioneers, some of today’s students seem to regard studying abroad as sightseeing for vacations and don’t put their mind in study at all.
People choose to go abroad to study for the latest research facilities, world famous professors and excellent environment in some foreign colleges and universities, which are not available in China. By studying overseas and living in an environment of
diversity, students can improve their ability in many ways and expand their horizons as well. For the students who have the chances and financial resources to study overseas, it is essential to seize the opportunity and make full use of the facilities to develop themselves.

Good morning, my dear teachers and friends! My name is XXX, from claX. Today, I am very happy to be here. My topic is “Our School”.My dear friends, welcome to our school! My school is very beautiful! It has a big playground. We can play and do some sports there. Near the playground, there is a garden. Many trees and flowers are there. So the air is very clean and we can hear birds singing in the trees. It is so wonderful. Our teaching buildings are around the garden and look like our teachers’ arms to welcome us.
