Good afternoon judges, the topic of my speech today is Save our mother nature.
We all know that Nature is the basis and origin of human civilization and that is why it is called our Mother NATURE. It used to be an influential teacher of our race, under whose control we human beings learned to survive, multiply and prosper.
But now, things are different. Human beings are strong enough to be in charge. They make their lives easier at the cost of the nature. They convert the forest into farmland to produce grains, they kill the wild animals to make leather clothes and they produce millions of cars to drive themselves to wherever they want to go .
With all these economic advances, the humans are happy, but the nature is aching. The clean water turns dirty, the greenhouse effect is looming large, the deserts are expanding their territories and haunt people with terrible sandstorms, and more and more species are dying out. All these are warnings to us that we shall take measures immediately to protect our mother nature, or we human beings, in the worsening of the natural environment, after the dying out of all the other species, we will meet our extinction in the end.
Ladies and gentlemen, open your eyes, don’t be blind to the emergency of environmental protection. Open your ears, don’t be deaf to the nature’s call. And open your heart, share some of your love to our mother nature who is not your servant but your constant friend, instructor and inspirer. Thanks for your listening. Thank you!

Hello, everyone! It’s my pleasure to stand here and give you a speech. My topic is Should College Students Only Learn Their Majors. Some people think their majors could contribute to their future. So they should pay all attention to their majors. I can’t share their ideas. In my opinion, college students shouldn’t only learn their majors.
Firstly, learning more is necessary for the career development. We are now living a severe competition society. As college students, we don’t know what we might do in the future. What we could do is trying our best to improve our personal abilities. Secondly, as a popular saying goes, Knowledge is powerful. With our country
developing fast, the importance of knowledge is becoming more and more obvious to us all. If you have enough knowledge, you can work in an easy way. For example, if one wants to work in IT field, he needs to improve his IT knowledge constantly.
And other knowledge such as English can help him do better. Thirdly, we can learn how to deal with difficulties and balance our life in this process. We might be more positive and optimistic to find ways to become better. Because learning more means we will lose a lot of free time and be busy. Life would be very substantial. We must and have to change ourselves to adapt to this life.
In conclusion, it is a good choice for
students to improve themselves by learning more in the college. So college students should not only learn their majors.

Hello, everyone! My name is MaChen. Today, the topic of my speech is “we cannot afford to lose our beautiful environment.” In our social life, of course, there are many things in the world that we cannot afford to lose, such as our health, our families and friends, our dream, our dignity wealth and so on. But with the serious environmental damage, I think it is equally important, we can't afford lose our beautiful environment.
As we all know, protecting our environment is very important, where ever you live, you can involve with it. We have only one earth, only one home. The earth is the mum of every one of us. It provides us with all kinds of lives, with food, with air, with water, with everything that is necessary for the beings in the world. But along with the industrial development and the improvement of people's living standard, many of us take all the things that the environment provide with us as granted.
As a result, pollution can be seen everywhere. We have witnessed all kinds of exhaust emissions, wastewater discharge, and garbage littered everywhere in our life. In addition, more and more trees disappeared, a large area of gradegraded, and all these threatened the ecological balance, harming human health, and restricted the sustainable development of economy and society, which let human was in trouble. In December 1952, Britain had "the London smog episode ", 12000 people lost their lives in this disaster. This winter we all have encountered fog haze weather in Beijing, and we all felt that is terrible. Meanwhile, natural disasters occur more and more frequently, and people pay a great loboth wealth and spirit. This is the earth, our
马晨 2016E8010261051 environment, giving our warnings. And, in more and more places, we cannot find not polluted river, What’s more, a lot of cities’ air quality is not up to the standard. Because of these polluted air and polluted water, more and more people died of respiratory infections per year. A recent data shows 750000 people dying from environmental pollution every year in our country.
Although the environmental protection has gained some attention, more and more counties and organizations are committed to environmental protection. However, some people still believe that environmental protection has nothing to do with them, in order to earn much more profit, they still wasting natural resources without limit and polluting our environment without care. Although our country, in recent years, has made many relevant rules and regulations, spent lots of money to protect our environment, and used law enforcement effort to fight environmental pollution, the protection work is of no real development up till now.
We can't afford to lose our earth, we can not afford to lose our homes, and we can not afford to lose our beautiful environment. As graduate students, we should start from ourselves, we can save electricity, take off the water tap after use it, do not throw rubbish everywhere in our life, take bus instead of taxi when we go out. No matter what we will do, no matter where we are, we can do the low-carbon life is our kind of life manner. More importantly, we not only should strengthen environmental protection consciousness, but also should help other people to improve their awareneof environmental protection so that we all can contribute voluntarily and

In addition, to the researchers and scientists, they should put more effort to develop new energy and materials, helping mankind reduce the use of fossil fuel, which is benefit to our environment and human’s sustainable development. Besides, more and more countries should make much more emphasize on environmental protection, and boost the recycling economy, make use of waste, to minimize the environmental pollution.
Let’s all go into action, to protect our beautiful environment, because we cannot afford to lose our beautiful environment. Otherwise, our earth will be ruined one day, as we have been punished by floods, droughts, storms, acid rains, land slides, the expansion of deserts, hurricanes and many other man-made natural disasters. We should always remember in our mind that protecting the environment is our duty that we can never neglect. We can’t wait. We need fresh air to breathe, we need pure water to drink, we need a clean environment to be healthy. So let’s do our action from now on! Hand in hand, so long as wants, each person may be able to achieve. I am sure with the contribution of everyone, if we make a change, it is not impossible that we will live in an ideal environment of green trees, clean air, crystal water, blue sky and an even more promising world!
