My best friend人物

Most people have many friends. Of course, me too. My best friend is Nancy. Why is she my best friend? Because when I feel happy, I can share the pleasure with her. When I feel sad, she can comfort me. When I have some secrets, I want to tell her about them. When I have difficulties, she is ready to help me. So I would like to make friends with her.

She is a happy girl. She likes talking very much and telling jokes. She has big eyes and small nose. She has long black and straight hair. So she looks very beautiful.

She studies very well. Because she listens carefully to teachers in class. She often bravely answers the teachers’ questions. She also studies very hard. Certainly she studies best in our school, and she is very popular, too.

She is a hard girl. She often helps her parents do housework. That makes her mother feel happy.

At last I want to say “Everyone can’t be best in many ways”. She often forgets to do something. For example she can’t find her glasses because she often leaves them at home.

Although she is different from me, I like her very much.

Hobbies爱好

Everyone has many hobbies. For example, planting, fishing, stamp collecting, shadowboxing and other hobbies.

Most students like planting trees. After they plant the trees, they often feel tired and their hands and arms hurt. But they are happy because they can grow stronger. Then they can keep thru earth beautiful for long time.

More students like going fishing in their free time. They started early and walked to a clear mountain stream. At noon they cooked them over a campfire. They enjoyed themselves.

A few students like stamp-collecting, but most students think it’s boring. I don’t agree with them, I think it can enrich our knowledge.

The old people like playing shadowboxing because their body is a little weak, they think playing shadowboxing can keep fit.

Do you want to know my hobbies? Let me tell you. I like all the sports. I think they are good for my health.

In my free tem I often play badminton, play basketball, play

football and other outdoor activities. Especially, I like running and I run every morning. So I am very healthy.

Everyone’s hobby is different, so everyone is different.

School life学校生活

Our school life is beautiful. It’s called the Middle School Affiliated to Rennin University of China at Zhen Zhou. We have lots of fun living here.

Every day we must get up at 5:30 to take morning exercise, and then we begin the morning reading. We have breakfast at 7:00. After that, our lessons often begin with some pieces of music. We study hard from morning till evening. At the end of a day, I feel tired, but I’m happy. And then a good dream is waiting for me. We go home once two weeks. On the first Saturday afternoon we have many kinds of activities. For example, go to Singing Mountain, go to the Yellow River, have a gymnastics competition, go to the Science Museum, go to the sports ground and so on. We can learn more useful knowledge from these colorful activities. The school life is warm like spring. The teachers are kind, the students are friendly. Living in our school is like living our own family. If you have some problems, teachers and classmates will try to help you cope with them. If you feel happy, you can share the pleasure with friends. If you feel sad, teachers and classmates will comfort you still you aren’t sad. In a word, you can’t feel alone and you only feel happy and safe in the warm and big family. Of course the good school life helps us get good grades and study better. We live here happily.

That is my school life, happy and interesting. We can get more and more things. I love my colorful school life very much.

Never Lose the Vision of Reality

Talking about dreams and future, I would say, dreams should not be too far from reality. Detaching from reality, lacking solid and practical actions, any future plan, and dream project will be nothing short of daydreaming, or, at most, well-intentioned thinking.

Here I am reminded of the year 2000, when 191 member states of the United Nations held a World Summit Conference, which made a declaration known as the Millennium [mi'lenim] 千年期 Development Goals. The goals for 2016, which all the member states pledged[pled] 保证,许诺to meet, were such as elimination除去 of hunger and poverty, drastic reductions in child mortality [m:'tlti]死亡率rates, reversing the spread of AIDS and other deadly diseases et cetera [it'setr]等等。

Now, 6 years later, almost half way to the final year of 2016, do we see some signs of realizing the pledged goals? Today, half the world---nearly three billion people, still live on lethan two U.S. dollars a day; in the world today 270 million children have no acceto safe water, about 11 million children die before they reach the age of five each year. Have we come to harne治理the spread of AIDS? The

answer is also no, and indeed is spreading faster and wider than ever before.

What is even worse, in the wake of the Iraqi[i'ra:ki]伊拉克的 War, there is the nuclear crisis in Iran[i'rɑ:n], and unsettled situation in many places. The vision of us young people may be limited, but the limited vision we do have and care about everyday cannot change our conviction[kn'vikn]定罪 that our world does not seem to promise a very bright future before us.

Who is to blame for all this? Of course we can blame the governments: how disappointing they all seem to be: in one moment they are pledging to build a better future for people, and in another moment, they ignite[iɡ'nait]点燃 wars killing more innocent people. But don’t you think that we ordinary folks should also take some responsibilities for, say, elimination[i,limi'nein] of poverty? When we quickly rush to schools, work places, or places of entertainment, how many times do we stop to hand over some food to the

deprived[di'praivd] 缺少食物的;缺乏足够教育的 on the streets? When we are browsing the newspaper for the news about what is going in this world, how often do we stop to think about the actual ways we can help the people who are suffering from

various['vεris] disastrous[di'zɑ:strs] situations? In fact how much have we done to help those who are in need just around us?

Dreams are certainly beautiful and indispensable to our life, for they give us inspiration [,insp'rein] and motivation. Plans for the future are certainly necessary, for they provide us with goals and guides. But what is most important is actions on a day-to-day basis. To make our dreams come true, to realize our future goals, we need to base our vision on reality and we need to put our words into our deeds. In other words, while human beings should be, first and foremost, idealists[ai'dilist] 理想主义者and thinkers, we should, all the more be realists['rilist]and practical doers实行家.

Good morning, my dear teachers and friends! My name is Li Bingke, from claOne,Grade Five/Six. Today, I am very happy to be here. My topic is “Our School”.My dear friends, welcome to our school! My school is very beautiful! It has a big playground. We can play and do some sports there. Near the playground, there is a garden. Many trees and flowers are there. So the air is very clean and we can hear birds singing in the trees. It is so wonderful. Our teaching buildings are around the garden and look like our teachers’ arms to welcome us. We can draw pictures in the art room on the first floor and read story-books in the library on the second floor. My classroom is on the third floor. It is clean and bright. We like to study in it. The computer room is on the fifth floor. We can sing and dance in the music room on the sixth floor. What a lot of fun! We can have lunch in the canteen near the teaching building. In our school, our teachers work hard and help us with our lessons. We study hard and listen to teachers carefully. After class, our teachers play with us and we feel very happy. Our school is so nice and our teachers are so kind. We all love them. Dear friends, do you like them?

That's all. Thanks!
