老水牛最喜欢吃的是青草。一来到青草地，它就津津有味地吃起来，还不时地抬起头来看看我，仿佛在对我说：“真好吃，真好吃。”它吃饱了，就一动不动地躺在小塘里休息。

老水牛的脾气不好，它爱和别的牛打架。如果别的牛靠近它，它就会两眼瞪得圆圆的，两只耳朵竖立着，尾巴紧紧夹起来，头低低垂下，一步一步地逼过去，用坚硬的角猛顶过去!你别看老水牛平时很温驯，但在这时，它完全像一头猛虎!
